Victor Gekara
Dr Gekara completed his PhD in Political
Economy at the Seafarers International Research Center (SIRC),
Cardiff School of Social Sciences in 2008, under the Nippon Foundation
International Fellowships. Prior to this he had completed a Bachelor of
Education (B. Ed) at Moi University in Kenya in 1996 and a Master of Science
(M. Sc) - International Transportation - at Cardiff School of Business in the
UK in 2005. Following completion of his Ph. D, Dr Gekara worked for a brief
period as a researcher at Cardiff University, after which, in 2009 he joined
RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, as a lecturer in the School of
Business IT and Logistics. Dr Gekara is now Associate Professor of Supply Chain
and Logistics Management. His research is underpinned by the broader political
economy thesis and focuses mainly on sustainable supply chains and logistics
from the perspective of skills formation and workforce development.
